Research Fellow
Elena Guidetti is an Architect and a PhD in Architecture. She is a research fellow at the Future Urban Legacy Lab research centre of Politecnico di Torino. In 2022, she get a PhD in “Architecture. History and Project” at Politecnico di Torino with a thesis on the transformative potential of existing buildings in post-functional Europe. Her work focuses on the adaptive reuse of buildings following a morphological perspective based on stages of completeness and embodied energy. Since 2018, she has been working as a teaching assistant at the University of Ferrara, at Politecnico di Torino. She completed her master’s degree in Architecture in 2017 at the University of Ferrara. In the “Faculdade de Arquitectura do Porto”, she developed her thesis, which focused on the requalification of the ex-Thermoelectric plant of Freixo, located in Oporto. During her master’s, she worked in the “Zimoun Contemporary Art Studio”, based in Bern, where she had the opportunity to set various international exhibitions around the EU.
