Torino e i suoi fiumi

Partendo dall’elaborazione di un quadro analitico del sistema fluviale torinese, il progetto Torino e i suoi fiumi si propone di identificare scenari trasformativi per i contesti fluviali della città.
Tali scenari sono intesi come strumento in grado di svelare potenzialità progettuali, traducendole in una visione d’insieme capace di dirigere sviluppi coerenti e coordinati.
La ricerca ha tre macro-obiettivi:
(1) Riportare l’attenzione sul patrimonio naturale della città, inteso anche come dispositivo di risposta agli effetti del cambiamento climatico;
(2) Strutturare una nuova narrativa per la città, attraverso la descrizione sistemica e la valorizzazione delle componenti che caratterizzano ciascuna asta fluviale;
(3) Fornire un quadro interpretativo utile al rinnovamento delle pratiche di programmazione e sviluppo della Città di Torino.
La ricerca esamina un tema complesso, affrontando il rapporto tra edificato e aree fluviali, la dimensione ecosistemica e la definizione di scenari trasformativi.

Starting from the elaboration of an analytical framework related to the river system of Turin, the project Torino e i suoi fiumi aims to identify transformative scenarios for the city’s river contexts. These scenarios are intended as a tool capable of disclosing planning opportunities, translating them into an overall vision able to direct coherent and coordinated development actions.
The research has three macro-goals:
(1) To bring attention back to the city’s natural heritage, also understood as a powerful device to respond to the effects of climate change;
(2) To structure and promote a new narrative for the city, through the systemic description and valorisation of the components that characterise each river;
(3) To provide an interpretative framework useful for the renewal of planning and development practices in the City of Turin.
The research deals with a complex topic, addressing the relationship between built areas and river context, the ecosystem dimension and the definition of transformative scenarios.
