DIST Urban and regional planning

Alys Solly is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Politecnico di Torino (Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning – DIST), where she explores the multiple interrelations between spatial governance and planning systems and territorial development. Her research and publications also focus on related issues, such as sustainability, quality of life and social justice. At FULL she is involved in the ToMove project, to set up participatory scenario-planning processes on the deployment of autonomous vehicles.

She has been the expert on Italy since 2020 for the European Policies Research Centre of the University of Strathclyde for their EoRPA programme and for the DG Regio project on Ex Post Evaluation of Cohesion Policy Programmes 2014-2020. Previously, she participated in the ESPON SUPER 2019-2020 project, on sustainable urbanization and land-use practices in European cities and regions, and in the 2016-2018 ESPON COMPASS project, on the comparative analysis of territorial governance and spatial planning in Europe.
