WHO in collaboration with Téchne members, as well as with Universities and non-profit technical institutions, has been providing technical support to countries for the design and re-purpose of health care facilities layout and functioning in the context of COVID-19 pandemic.

The challenge
This design project focussed on addressing the need for rapid and sustainable development of COVID-19 treatment centres in low resource contexts that would be able to continue to serve as effective and efficient facilities for the provision of primary health services as well other infectious diseases management challenges once the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic will be over.
The project and design
In collaboration with Turin Polytechnic (Italy), Nazi Boni University (Burkina Faso) and WHO Regional Office for Africa, the Téchne team developed technical proposals for a thirty-bed health facility.
