Promoted by the Fondazione dell’Ordine degli Architetti PPC della Provincia di Milano and Fondazione Housing Sociale, in collaboration with Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli and AmbienteAcqua APS, the meeting explores youth housing, investigating the ways in which housing can meet the needs of young people and the policies that can influence supply – considering the metropolitan perspective and the ecological challenge – in continuity with the themes that emerged in 2023 in the CARA CASA Festival.
During Milano Arch Week 2024, the meeting will delve into themes, problems and trends on youth housing, starting from the presentation of the results of the research Abitare Fluido, deepened in the publication Collaborare e Abitare. Il diritto alla casa nelle metropoli per le nuove generazioni curated by Fondazione Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, and investigating which modalities, typologies and forms that living can take to meet the needs of the new generations and which dynamics, policies and practices can influence the supply for youth housing, with respect to the dynamics taking place in the city and the metropolitan area. The event, in continuity with Cara Casa. Il Festival itinerante sull’abitare tra Milano, Venezia, Bologna, Genova, the winning project in 2023 of the public notice “Festival Architettura – II edizione” of the DGCC of the Ministry of Culture, will want to take stock of what has been achieved and project itself into the future. In addition to youth living, the metropolitan perspective and the ecological challenge – themes that emerged in the Festival – will be taken up and discussed again with architects, citizens and partners in order to broaden common reflection in the city.
