The progressive change in living conditions of the new citizens rises a housing question that increasingly converges with that of parts of Italian society.
This unspoken potential can be imagined as a resource for formulating new strategies of renovation for the existing residential heritage and for building a common ground ofcohabitation and integration.
New technological services and experimental housing models suggest the possibility of outsourcing many of the spatial and infrastructural features traditionally included in domestic units to integrate the house with the urban space. The provision of public spaces and high-density private buildings make Italian cities a convenient context to apply an effective model of integration between the individual and the collective dimension.
