The City of Turin has recently launched the\u00a0\u201cMover la movida\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0project, which aims to (a) reconfigure cultural programming, entertainment and nighttime mobility; (b) outline regeneration processes and identify places and infrastructures potentially suitable for aggregation, but located in areas of the city to date with little interest in nightlife.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

As part of the \u201cMover la movida\u201d project, FULL through the IInteruniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning (DIST) of the Polytechnic University of Turin and the City of Turin have signed an agreement to carry out collaboration and research, co-design and training activities.<\/p>\n\n

The\u00a0research and co-design activities\u00a0<\/strong>envisaged in the agreement aim to define a theoretical-practical model that explores the dynamics, processes and urban scenarios interrelated to different functionalities and territorial frequencies, and that can be applied in a polycentric territorial perspective. Thus, the definition of a theoretical-practical model includes the analysis of issues related to nighttime aggregation, generating scenarios, and formulating concrete proposals for improving cultural programming and nighttime mobility, with particular attention to the dynamics of regeneration of unused or underutilized urban spaces.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

The\u00a0workshop\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cTransforming the Night: Opportunities, Visions, Scenarios\u201d therefore aims to define a theoretical-practical model of the dynamics, processes, and scenarios related to nighttime aggregation, through an articulated co-design process.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

The workshop will involve stakeholders in all stages of the process (from analysis to scenario development to proposal formulation). In fact, the rethinking of nighttime aggregation spaces within the city involves numerous city stakeholders, both public and private: the owner(s) of live music venues, nightclubs, bars, and restaurants, and the representatives of these businesses; theaters, cultural centers, and clubs; young people, students; workers in the cultural and entertainment industry; residents.<\/p>\n\n
