The use of smart technologies such as solar panels or cool roofs helps to achieve energy and climate targets. This study presents a flexible methodology based on the use of geographic information systems that enables the assessment of the potential use of roofs in a densely built-up context, estimating the areas of roofs that can be refurbished or used to produce renewable energy. The methodology was applied to the case study of the city of Turin in Italy; a 3D model of the roofs was designed, several scenarios were studied, and priorities for interventions were established, taking into account the conditions of the urban landscape.&#13;\n&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&#8217;applicabilit\u00e0 delle soluzioni intelligenti \u00e8 stata valutata a supporto della revisione del Codice Energetico dell&#8217;Edilizia di Torino, nell&#8217;ambito del progetto \u201cRe-Coding\u201d, che mirava ad aggiornare l&#8217;attuale codice edilizio della citt\u00e0. Inoltre, sono stati valutati gli impatti ambientali, economici e sociali per identificare le misure di efficienza energetica pi\u00f9 efficaci. Nel contesto torinese, l&#8217;utilizzo di un tetto verde coibentato ha consentito un risparmio energetico nel consumo per il riscaldamento fino a 88 kWh\/mq\/anno e per il raffreddamento di 10 kWh\/mq\/anno, con una riduzione delle emissioni di gas serra rispettivamente di 193 tCO2eq\/MWh\/anno e 14 tCO2eq\/MWh\/anno. Questo approccio potrebbe essere un supporto significativo nell&#8217;identificazione e nella promozione di soluzioni di efficienza energetica per sfruttare anche le risorse energetiche rinnovabili a basse emissioni di gas serra.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Urban roofs are a potential source of water, energy and food, helping to make cities more resilient and sustainable.
