Heritage borders are now more blurred than ever, and even what is not recognized as heritage can be considered a preservationist concern. Furthermore, the adaptation of existing buildings has increased in architectural practice and theoretical production during the last few decades. On the other hand, the legacy from the past might be considered either a positive or negative commons, depending on the social, cultural, economic, environmental context.
