Roots and horizons: dialogues on neo-population – second meeting

The Future Urban Legacy Lab presents the second meeting of the cycle Radici e orizzonti: dialogues on neopopopulation, which focuses on the topic of new internal migration trends in Italy, in particular of the younger generations.
The event will see the presentation of three books: “La Tornanza”, “Migrazioni Verticali” and “Voglia di Restare” by authors Antonio Prota and Andrea Membretti. Following this, the day’s theme ‘Tornare, restare, migrare’ will be discussed by Filippo Barbera and the authors.
La Tornanza (A. Prota, F. R. Albano, 2024), Migrazioni Verticali (edited by A. Membretti, F. Barbera, G. Tartari, 2024) and Voglia di Restare (edited by A. Membretti, S. Leone, S. Lucarelli, D. Storti, G. Urso, 2023) deal with the theme of the chosen movement of people towards inland and mountainous areas from different perspectives, regardless of the different reasons and collective trends that push people to move to the highlands. The texts well express that growing ‘desire for the mountains’ on the part of those who already live there and those who choose to live there at the basis of the new forms of neo-population.

Discussant
Antonio Prota, Andrea Membretti, Filippo Barbera
