Saturday 13 will see the launch of the “BRUalinu – Benessere e Rigenerazione Urbana” (BRUalinu – Wellbeing and Urban Regeneration) project, winner of the Creative Living Lab competition organized by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, with Mauro Fontana, FULL PhD student, as Scientific Director.
Until September, the project will work within certain spaces in the historic center of Canicattì, in the province of Agrigento, with the aim of making certain spaces accessible to everyone through free urban regeneration events, participatory workshops, and cultural activities.
The introductory seminar “Urban regeneration and civic imagination,” organized by Semi di Rigenerazione in collaboration with Mauro Fontana and sponsored by the Order of Architects of the Province of Agrigento, will feature local and national experts as guests.
“Revitalizing underutilized urban spaces, enhancing vacant lots by renovating them or creating opportunities for socialization and participation. Creating a network between public and private institutions, associations, and ordinary citizens to reuse schools, sports facilities, squares, and urban courtyards. Imagining that forgotten places can once again become places of value creation and a possible future.”
